The U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle, PA is pleased to invite re-enactors, living historians, and the public to attend the second annual Re-enactor Recruiting Day! The event serves as a "meet and greet" for living historians to interact between their organizations and for the public to learn more about the periods each group represents. In addition, the Recruiting Day provides a great opportunity for re-enactors to recruit to fill their ranks with history buffs!

Re-enactors and those interested in living history are encouraged to visit the USAHEC from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, February 16, 2013 to interact with living history organizations who are looking for new members or are just looking to get the word out about their organization. A range of historical periods will be represented, from the 17th Century to the 20th Century. Participating organizations will have representatives on hand to answer questions about their period and to provide information about re-enacting.

If you are a unit leader, the USAHECs prime location on the busy I-81 corridor, coupled with over 120,000 visitors a year, makes it a perfect place for you to advertise your organization and attract new members. In addition, you will have the opportunity to interact with other organizations from all over the east coast. If you would like to register for a booth space, visit the USAHEC home page at www.usahec.org , and click on the Re-enactor Registration button. Fill out the requested information in the form and type "Reenactor Recruitment Event" in the Event box.

There is no cost for this event for living history organizations or visitors. This is an indoor event and each unit will receive an allotted space in the Visitor and Education Center building with a six foot table and chairs. Organizations are welcome to call and discuss further arrangements for specialized displays in their area. In addition, units will have the opportunity to present a short demonstration. If weather permits, small-scale demonstrations outside will also be scheduled.
