In 1867 Wilhelm Keuffel and Hermann Esser entered into a business agreement to sell drawing materials and instruments in New York City. The high quality of their products that they either produced in Hoboken, New Jersey or imported from Germany allowed the business to drastically expand and be profitable for over a century. By the time Cadet Bradley went to West Point, K. & E. were mass producing these sets. He used this drafting set in his drawing class during his cow, or junior year at the Academy.
