"From Archives to Publication" with COL (Ret.) Henry G. Gole

 

Ever wonder what it takes to become an author? Interested in the process of researching, writing, and publishing books? The U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center (USAHEC) welcomes you to join us on March 17, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. for the presentation “From Archives to Publication.” COL (Ret.) Henry G. Gole, will explain the process he used when writing several of his books, including one yet to be published. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the actual documents from the USAHEC library and archives he used in his research.
 
COL (Ret.) Gole fought in Korea as an enlisted rifleman and served two tours in Vietnam as a Special Forces officer. He has taught at West Point, the U.S. Army War College, the University of Maryland, and Dickinson College. He is the author of The Road to Rainbow: Army Planning for Global War, 1934–1940, General William E. DePuy: Preparing the Army for Modern War (American Warriors,) and Soldiering: Observations from Korea, Vietnam, and Safe Places. His publications will be available for purchase in the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center’s gift shop. Lunch or snacks will be available for purchase before the presentation at Café Cumberland in the Visitor and Education Center. The event and parking are free and handicap accessible.
