USAHEC Facility Construction Updates
 
 

VISITORS AND EDUCATION CENTER

The Army Heritage Center Foundation, with support from private donors, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the Department of the Army, is building a Visitor and Education Center as part of the Army Heritage and Education Center. When complete the 37,000 square foot facility will feature:

- 7,000 square foot gallery
- Two multipurpose rooms with state-of-the-art audiovisual and catering     capabilities
- Visitor amenities to include a museum store and snack bar.
- Offices for U.S. Army Heritage & Education Center and the Army Heritage     Center Foundation.

The construction is scheduled to be complete by July 2010 with a formal opening date to be determined.

MUSEUM SUPPORT FACILITY

The U.S. Army is constructing a Museum Support Facility as part of the Army Heritage & Education Center. When complete the 34,000 square foot facility will feature:

- Paper Conservation Laboratory
- Digitization Laboratory
- Object Conservation Laboratory
- Textile/Art Conservation Laboratory
- Analytical Laboratory
- Artifact storage and processing areas

The construction is scheduled to be complete by April 2011 with a formal opening date to be determined.
