SUMMARY

National Security literature is filling with dialogue on 'hybrid threats' and 'hybrid war.' The author of this Parameters article argues that any attempt to define the 'hybrid' challenge too precisely may prove an undesirable diversion for a Defense Department facing more fundamental issues.
