The study of U.S. national security and strategy is embedded in the core of the curriculum of the U.S. Army War College. Compiled as a springboard into the research and understanding of this intertwined subject area, the following bibliography reflects books, documents, periodical articles, and a number of web sites. All sites listed were accessed between December 2003 and January 2004.

With a few notable exceptions, the materials in this bibliography are dated 2001 to the present. For older materials, please see the bibliography entitled U.S. National Security and Military Strategies, dated August 1999.
