Preface

"Warfare in the 21st Century" is a special theme at the U.S. Army War College. Compiled in support of this theme, the following bibliography reflects books, documents, and periodical articles in the Army War College Library. It also includes a number of web sites.

The books and documents in this bibliography are dated 2000 to the present, while most of the periodical articles are dated 2001 to the present. For your convenience we have added library call numbers or Internet addresses at the end of each entry. (Call numbers indicate the item’s shelf location in our library.)

While the subject categories of this bibliography are inter-related, very few bibliographic entries are listed in more than one category. This procedure was followed in order to include as many entries as possible in the overall bibliography. Taken collectively, the bibliographic references provide a broad brush view of Warfare in the 21st Century.

This bibliography is available on the Internet through our Library’s home page <http://www.carlisle.army.mil/library/>. For additional information, please contact the Research and Information Services Branch, U.S. Army War College Library, by sending an e-mail message to usarmy.carlisle.awc.mbx.us-libraryr@mail.mil, or by phoning DSN 242-3660 or Commercial (717) 245-3660.
