The
use, reproduction, or rebroadcast of copyrighted materials
is governed by U.S. Copyright Law. The Library is the proponent
for obtaining copyright permissions on behalf of the students,
staff, and faculty on Carlisle Barracks.
All materials,
regardless of format or source, must be submitted to the Library's
copyright office for review prior to use. This includes, but
is not limited to: government documents, DoD publications,
books, cartoons, maps, photographs, journal articles, charts,
graphs, music, videos, audio cassettes, software and electronic
resources.
To obtain
copyright permission, complete the "Request for Copyright Permission"
form, CBKS Form 899-R-E
(CBOnline Access Only).
Where possible, provide a copy of the source material with the form.
Forms and accompanying source materials may be submitted electronically or forwarded to the
Library through distribution to the Copyright Office, Room B25,
Root Hall or in-person. For planning purposes, allow 10-12
weeks to process requests and obtain the permission.
When the
Library receives copyright permission that does not involve
a fee, it will send the permission directly to the requestor.
When a fee is involved, the Library will send a "Copyright
Fee Approval" form to the requestor to obtain authorization
to pay the fee. Once the Library receives a signed authorization
to pay the fee, it will pay for the permission and provide
the requestor with the permission. Once the requestor receives
a permission, the item may be reproduced or used as indicated
on the permission.
Questions
concerning copyright may be directed to LibraryAC
or the Library's Copyright Office at x53311.
